TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) and its sponsor and technical partner DENSO returned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 17 and 18 with one ambition: to achieve their first victory. At the 86th Le Mans race this goal became a reality and the TGR team secured a perfect two-in-one victory at the famous Circuit de la Sarthe. The 24 Hours of Le Mans, Race 3 of the FIA World Endurance Championship, continues to be one of the most famous motor races in the world and one that had resisted the team until now.
Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and F1 Star Fernando Alonso drove the # 8 TS050 HYBRID car, steering it towards victory by crossing the finish line first. Not far behind, the team formed by Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José María López, led the race for long periods with the TS050 HYBRID No. 7, achieving the perfect result for TGR – and its technical partner DENSO – when they secured the second final place. in front of more than 250,000 fans.
