LANCIA DELTA S4 by SRC 2.0 EVO

In this report, we explain the snap fit of engine and body simulation parts by attaching our assembly sheets.

Brief introduction:

After the work carried out in recent months, to have the LANCIA DELTA S4 in the SLOT CARS market, we have decided to make the detailed assembly of the S4 visible in the ORIGINAL and CHRONO versions.

Due to the number of pieces that the model has in both versions and due to the design and presentation on stage for both collection and competition, we have decided to share our assembly sheets with the general public.

As important issues to highlight, we have valued writing certain points where we share the difficulties of adjusting certain pieces, which, due to their complexity in various processes, may require a brief graphic explanation. Likewise, we will also include a series of notes to attach to the parts that are snapped into this SRC 2.0 EVO Gr.B.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1.- In the lower part of the motor simulation, where it is executed and attached to a platform that goes above the rear shock absorber stops, there are several parts that have been designed with a snap-fit fixing method. These pieces are:

a) Intake tube located where the supercharging system, circuit and filters of the system implanted in the replica of the powerful Gr.B engine go, in this case forming part of the block or platform.

b) The second piece of the exhaust pipe is fitted by means of a stem with the shape of a dice with a taper.

c) The rest of the pieces of the platform in the upper part are joined by means of glue (LOCTITE 406) or by means of the plastic welding process.

d) These pieces are simulated and proportioned so that at this small scale they can stand out as an aesthetic piece of the replica.

2.- In the chassis, when assembling with the bodywork, the exhaust tails with the silencer and an aesthetic piece have been presented that emulates the volumetric compressor of the “Roots” type that the S4 had mechanically implemented as a turbocharger weapon.

The first set is very easy to fit because it has two small “pins” on the chassis that run parallel to it and have a slight fit on the two small “lugs” of the muffler where the exhaust tails go.

The second set is just a hollow piece that emulates the frame of the turbo’s volumetric compressor and is attached to the chassis with the same system both in ease of fitting and in the diameter of the “pin” to fit it under pressure.

3.- In the front part of the S4, it has two small holes that make the entrance of the electrical connection where the auxiliary lights are placed. The two small plastic terminals snap into the S4’s “nose” or bumper. It should be explained that the microns of paint that can enter that piece of bodywork and that may be on the stem of the small terminal may make it difficult to remove. This extraction by means of ejection under pressure must always be done from the inside of the bumper with a pointed object that is not sharp or pointed, so that the small terminal or the headlights come out towards the outside. If it is done with extreme care and if the walls of the headlight rods and the small terminals are sanded a little, it would enter with less pressure, but both aesthetic parts of the model would be perfectly attached.

*Gratitude:

Many thanks to all the people who have supported us during these two years of transition of the SRC brand to continue as a manufacturer in the sector. The work has been completed and has concluded with the integration of the model in the brand’s catalog, as well as in the market for this sector. This replica, through the execution of the manufacturing processes, has been a challenge for this company and an unforgettable experience that has been completed with a lot of effort, dedication and passion; within the limits that put a brake on a piece of this caliber with its quality and retail price.
