Coche Slot McLaren M23 It was a Formula 1 car designed by Gordon Coppuck, with the collaboration of John Barnard, and built by the McLaren team. It was a development of the McLaren M16 cars used in the Indianapolis 500. With a Ford-Cosworth DFV engine, it was prepared by specialist tuning companies the Nicholson Motors company. This helped boost the DFV's output of the necessary horsepower to provide some 490 hp.2
